Second stop - Rich Mix

K and I arrived at the Rich Mix a little after 3pm. We went straight into the ground floor Cafe and joined the lovely ladies from the Bloody Spikeless forum, which included [livejournal.com profile] stretfordditto, [livejournal.com profile] deedee7daydiary and [livejournal.com profile] spikesnn. It was so nice to see some friendly faces, as meeting new people is something that doesn't come easy to me. Before long we were joined by [livejournal.com profile] spikereader and the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] sueworld2003, who is exactly as you'd expect her to be from her LJ. :)

First stop - Soho Revue Bar

As [livejournal.com profile] spikereader has already posted her report on this, I could just direct you to hers as we were together for most of it. So, as everything (more or less) that happened to [livejournal.com profile] spikereader before the gig also happened to me, I won't bore you all by going through it again. :) Suffice to say, it was wonderful to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] lmbossy, [livejournal.com profile] kazzy_cee and [livejournal.com profile] spikereader for a meal and a chat before the gig. And just for the record: [livejournal.com profile] spikereader is NOT a quiet person! :D

I had a great time at Collectormania on Sunday, which I went to with [livejournal.com profile] spikereader. I saw lots of you there, and it was wonderful to finally put faces to names. I'll write a proper report later and reply to all of the comments I've received over the weekend. :)

I was pleased to get the chance to say a few words to James when he signed his autograph for me. He told me that he'd had a great time at the dinner on Thursday and that there had been lots of "good conversation", which was good to hear. I did point out that my contribution to the conversation was only small, but that yes, it was good. :) I also passed on a message from K, which he seemed genuinely touched by.

Having my photograph taken with James was something I'd been nervous about (I hate having my picture taken), but was actually a lovely experience. James makes you feel so at ease, and is so warm and soft and friendly. It really was a special experience. :) I almost ran away without having my second picture taken, but got called back, so had to go through it all again. Not complaining here. :D

The Q&A was wonderful! I know there are transcripts for this, so I won't even try to go into detail, but it was so good. Especially the beginning part with Steve! :D

More to come later. Possibly with a few pics. :) No pics of the gigs, though, as I prefer to sit, look and listen rather than snap away. I'm sure other people took plenty! :)

Got back from London in the early hours of this morning. Had a fantastic time at all the Spring Fever events, and a wonderful time at the dinner with James. I'm still processing everything that happened, and am still stunned and a little overwhelmed by the fact that my ticket was drawn for the dinner...and that K was able to come with me. I still can't quite believe that I was there! I met some wonderful people, including the brilliant [livejournal.com profile] sueworld2003, who I'm sure can remember more of what James had to say than I can. :D

The Union Chapel gig last night was fantastic. James was on fine form and the atmosphere was electric. K and I were at the back of the room, seated next to the sound man. People who could transfer from their wheelchairs or had walking difficulties were allowed to sit in the front couple of rows, but those (like K) who are unable to transfer had to sit at the back. I have to say, though, that the view from there was wonderful. I don't think there was a bad view to be had in the room. And James looked and sounded great! :D I met quite a few people from LJ last night, but I think I was still a bit hung over dazed by it all, so I don't know how much sense they got out of me. LOL!

I'm sure I'll have more to say when I've had a chance to process it all, but one thing I can say right now is that Spring Fever was definitely an event to remember. And who would have thought that instead of running away from James, I'd actually end up having dinner with him? *is stunned*

I still haven't quite come back down to earth yet. :D
