So here it is, the first of my London reports. :)

This is long and rambly. If only I talked this much in RL! ;D

St James... )

So the first part of our James weekend was over. It was wonderful to see him singing live again, but I knew that the best part of the weekend was yet to come...and boy was I right!
caliente_uk: (words and music made by kazzy_cee)
I had a wonderful time in London over the weekend. James looked and sounded great and his abridged version of Macbeth was outstanding. I loved the interaction he had with the audience during the Q&A. He's so passionate about this subject and it really was a sight to behold. Not only is James a talented actor, but he's also intelligent with it!

It was lovely meeting everyone from LJ, especially [livejournal.com profile] lmbossy (thank you so much for all your help), [livejournal.com profile] spikereader, [livejournal.com profile] kazzy_cee, [livejournal.com profile] stretfordditto, [livejournal.com profile] jamalov29 (I wish we could have talked for longer, Caroline), [livejournal.com profile] hannahclarke, [livejournal.com profile] schehrezade_1 (I was the quiet one, if you can't remember who I am ;)) and [livejournal.com profile] deedee7daydiary. [livejournal.com profile] spikeslou and [livejournal.com profile] spikesdeb, it was wonderful to see you both again! :)

When I got home I received the news that a lifelong family friend had passed away, so that brought me back down to earth with a bump. He'd been ill for a while, but it still came as a shock.

But I will write a more detailed report later, including my thoughts on the concert at St James Church on Friday.

Fans of James Marsters ("Spike" in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel")
across the Internet have been touched by the plight of the victims of Hurricane
Katrina and want to do something to help.

In response, they are listing collectibles on eBay (through the Mission Fish
program) with 100 percent of the final sales price slated for the American Red
Cross and its hurricane relief effort

The first listings were posted on Sept. 6. All items start at $10, which is
the minimum Mission Fish requires to collect for charity.

See the auctions at:

Please consider placing a bid to help the hurricane victims and get a neat
collectible for yourself in the process.

Thank you.

Pass it on -

Over the years, James Marsters fans have proven themselves to be among the
most warmhearted and generous folks one could ever know.

Now, the people whose lives have been disrupted by Hurricane Katrina need our
help.

The U.S. government is estimating that this may be the costliest cleanup in
U.S. history. But, of course, there's no way to put a price tag on the cost in
human lives and suffering.

What we're asking is that James Marsters fans ban together to help raise
funds for the relief effort.

A temporary Yahoo group at

http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/jm_katrina/

has been set up to coordinate efforts. This is an open group. There are no
membership requirements to view the board.

If you are a Yahoo list owner or a board moderator and would like to help
coordinate things for the group, just email me and I'll add your name as a
moderator to this list.

Basically, we want to provide information to people interested in making
their own individual monetary donations to their charity of choice.

We also want to encourage fund-raisers. The Bloody Awful Poet Society and
Support Spike will be holding some eBay auctions to help bring in money. 100
percent of the proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross in honor of
James Marsters.

If you are a member of a JM/Spike group and would like to organize a
fund-raiser on your board, please tell us about it on the new Yahoo list.

As the Red Cross is saying, no amount is too small for a donation. Please
help.

And please repost this throughout the fandom -- email groups, boards, LJs.

Thank you.

I'm sure everyone has seen it by now, but a Smallville promo has been released, featuring James.

Smallville Promo )

James is looking good!

If anyone on my flist could make me an icon from the promo pic, I'd be eternally grateul. :)

Now all I need is an airing date for Smallville Season 5 in the UK. *sigh*

[livejournal.com profile] spikeylover has posted news about a possible Spike movie here.

So it looks like a Spike movie is becoming a *real* possibility. I have to admit to having mixed feelings about it. As everyone on my flist knows, I love Spike with a passion and would like nothing more than to see him on my TV screen again. I'm all SQUEE!!! just thinking about it. I've been squeeing all over my flist since I saw [livejournal.com profile] spikeylover's post. But (and it's a big but) I only want it to happen if it's done well. I don't want a Spike movie at any cost. *sigh*

But OMG...to see Spike on my TV screen again! How amazing would that be? :D

Please get it right, Joss. *keeping fingers, toes and everything crossed*

Happy 43rd Birthday, James!

I hope you have a wonderful day! Wishing you all the happiness in the world, today and always.

Can't wait to see you again in October. :D

Tickets for JM's concert at St James Church on October 28th are available NOW. Call 0870 163 3833.

I've booked 2 tickets. I'm taking my daughter to this one, as well as to the matinee performance at The Mermaid on the 29th. Wheelchair spaces are sorted out on the night, so that should be fun! Anyone for a wheelie stampede? LOL!

So I'm now seeing JM three times in two days. I wouldn't normally do that, but as I'm in London anyway, why not? I hated missing out on the St James concert last time around. It was the one other concert from the tour that I would have loved to have gone to. It's in such a beautiful venue, and should be a great night. :D

My husband thinks I'm crazy. My daughter thinks I'm the best Mum in the world. She's almost as excited as I am...but only almost! *g*

I'm looking forward to meeting up with everyone from the boards. I'm a little bit nervous about it, as I'm very shy in RL, but I'm sure you'll all be gentle with me. ;)
caliente_uk: (Default)
My tickets arrived this morning. It appears that the box office have screwed up. I got the front row seats I ordered for the matinee performance (in the wheelchair seats), but row C, centre for the evening. I have to admit to being a little disappointed. Now, if I'd been told when I booked them that I had third row, centre, I would have been over the moon. Third row in The Mermaid, to my understanding, are excellent seats. But I was told I had front row when I booked, so I can't help but be a little disappointed.

Anyone else had this problem?

I don't suppose I can really complain. I've still got front row for the matinee performance. But when you pay £75+ for a ticket, you expect to get what you ordered.
caliente_uk: (Jameshug)
Not only have I bought a ticket for the evening performance of JM's London show, but I'm also taking K to the afternoon matinee performance. For both performances I'll be in the front row. Front row, centre for the evening performance, and at the end of the front row (in the disabled seats), for the afternoon performance.

So...have I gone insane? Some may think so, but I'm so excited at the moment, I don't care! *g*

We're going to go up to London as a family, and make a weekend of it. My husband and son will do their own thing, while I take K to the afternoon performance, and then my husband will take over looking after K while I go to the evening performance. I can't wait! :D

I've spent an insane amount of money, but I don't care. To see JM perform a stage piece will be a dream come true. I adore theatre and go as often as I can. So seeing JM perform on stage is really as good as it gets for me. :D

I got back from Coventry a couple of hours ago.

Tonight was absolutely amazing! I had the best time of my life. James was in fine form and his voice sounded even better than I thought it would. He looked very happy and relaxed. I met some wonderful people, but best of all I met James himself.

Not only did I meet him, but I got a hug, a kiss AND he held my hand. We were all led out row by row, and James was waiting for us at the end of the bar. I was so nervous! I'm extremely shy, and I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to think of anything to say to him. But when it came to my turn my fears just melted away. He has such a warmth about him, that you can't help but feel relaxed. We looked at each other, said hi and then he kissed me on the lips. It all happened so quickly that I didn't even have time to think about the fact that James Marsters had just kissed me! Then he hugged me. I can't even begin to describe how it felt to have his arms around me. All I can say is that it was one of the best hugs I've ever had. So warm. *sigh* I told him that it was lovely to meet him and that I loved him his work. He told me it was lovely to meet me, too. All of this was while he was still hugging me.

I told him that the show was amazing. He said "That's so good to hear. Seriously, if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't be able to do this." He said more, but I'm having trouble remembering exactly what he said. I was just so aware of the fact that he was holding my hand, and that I was looking into his eyes. I had my other hand on his back. I could feel the soft leather of his jacket. As I turned to leave, he was still holding my hand. Then he gave it a squeeze, and let go as I walked away. His hand was so warm and soft, I can still feel it now.

It was an amazing experience and one I will never forget. James really does make you feel like you're the only woman in the world. :)

[livejournal.com profile] spikesdeb, it was so good to meet you and Lou. I felt like I'd known you both forever. We'll have to do this again some time! *g*

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO [livejournal.com profile] cindermom!!

I hope you have a wonderful day, Cindy! *hugs*

I can't believe that I'm going to be at JM's Album Launch this time tomorrow night. It's come around so quickly! And now I hear that James will be handing the signed CDs out in person! I was nervous before, but now...

I hope I don't make a fool of myself. I'm aware that I'll probably only be with him for about 10 seconds, but I'll probably lose the ability to speak, and just stand there looking like an idiot. ;)
