Words and Music

I had a wonderful time in London over the weekend. James looked and sounded great and his abridged version of Macbeth was outstanding. I loved the interaction he had with the audience during the Q&A. He's so passionate about this subject and it really was a sight to behold. Not only is James a talented actor, but he's also intelligent with it!
It was lovely meeting everyone from LJ, especially
lmbossy (thank you so much for all your help),
spikereader,
kazzy_cee,
stretfordditto,
jamalov29 (I wish we could have talked for longer, Caroline),
hannahclarke,
schehrezade_1 (I was the quiet one, if you can't remember who I am ;)) and
deedee7daydiary.
spikeslou and
spikesdeb, it was wonderful to see you both again! :)
When I got home I received the news that a lifelong family friend had passed away, so that brought me back down to earth with a bump. He'd been ill for a while, but it still came as a shock.
But I will write a more detailed report later, including my thoughts on the concert at St James Church on Friday.

Date: 2005-10-30 10:59 pm (UTC)I also wish I were able to have a longer conversation with you , Cal , but it was already so nice to meet you!
I'm sure we will have other opportunities in the future , since our love and admiration for James is not ready to fade away. ;-)

I'm sure we'll get the chance to meet again in the future. I'm hoping my shyness won't get in the way so much next time! *hugs*

Date: 2005-11-02 11:01 pm (UTC)I'll definitely be at the next one! Let's hope it doesn't take him too long to come back. I'll try not to be so quiet next time...although I don't think I'm quite as shy with you. Probably because of our shared experience in Coventry! *g*

Date: 2005-10-31 01:58 pm (UTC)very giggly chattery and loud (ask Megan she talks me down all the time) I loved meeting everyone too and I think that it was the icing on the cake for me to put faces to names and to be able to meet so many people with the same interests (I am very much an in the closet Spike fan and ficwriter - only one person really knows about my 'other' life.)
I am so very sorry that you came home after a wonderful two days to such sad news - I am so very sorry and am thinking of you.

It's great to see all the pics from St James popping up everywhere. So many wonderful memories! I'm just hoping that Steve Himber decides to release the DVD of Words and Music. That really would be the icing on the cake! :D

Date: 2005-11-01 08:48 pm (UTC)I'm so glad you had fun at the concert and frolicing with friends Cal. James does indeed sound like an experience where you get your money's worth and more when you go to see him.
My deepest sympathies on your loss.
