I'm so coooooooold! And BtVS issue #39

It's so cold I think I'm getting frostbite. Lol!
*shivers*
So the comic killed off one of the Buffyverse's greatest characters. I'm sorry, but I can't bring myself to mourn for a cardboard cutout of a character, no matter how much I loved him on the show. As far as I'm concerned, Giles is still alive and kicking, just as we left him at the end of the series. This may be canon to Joss and those who like the comics, but it sure as hell isn't my canon.
No disrespect intended to those of you who like them, but I can find absolutely nothing redeemable about the comics at all. I stuck with them for as long as I possibly could, hoping that they would improve over time, but instead they just kept on getting worse and worse. Very few of the characters are even recognisable as the characters I know and love, and as far as I'm concerned Buffy and Angel (two of my favourite characters of all time) have had their characters ripped to shreds.
Enough is enough.
*washes hands of the whole thing*

Date: 2010-12-03 02:12 pm (UTC)Thats my response too I'm afraid. Like many of the other characters in this series Giles 'died' for me many years back.

Date: 2010-12-03 03:24 pm (UTC)This has been the final straw for me, and I agree - shame on Joss indeed.

Date: 2010-12-03 03:28 pm (UTC)I can't wait for S8 to be over - and I won't have any interest in a S9 at all. I just hope they fade away into oblivion soon!

Date: 2010-12-03 03:22 pm (UTC)Cynically I strongly suspect that if it became commercially advisable to resurrect Giles Joss would do it in a heartbeat!

Date: 2010-12-03 05:26 pm (UTC)Aww, I love S6! I think S6 and S7 work better when viewed as a whole. The Spike/Buffy arc in those two seasons tell a powerful story imo. :)

Date: 2010-12-03 07:58 pm (UTC)Hee! Yes, I completely agree with you. :)
And it doesn't sound big headed at all. The characters I love are much safer in the hands of good fanfic writers like you.
