What did you think of Dear Fatty - I really enjoyed it and thought some of it was rather sad, but Dawn French's personality really came through.

I really like it. I found it incredibly moving in parts, especially the chapters about her Dad. And yes, Dawn French's personality came through in abundance! :)

Oh, I love The Mercy Thompson series. I can't wait till next week when the new book comes out. Have you tried the "spin off" series "The Alpha and the Omega"? It is about Samuel's brother (Charles) and his mate. It is another good series by Patricia Briggs. The fist installment was in short story form in the book "On the Prowl" It is a little different from the Mercy books but so far I am enjoying them too.

I'm planning to read The Alpha and the Omega series as soon as I can get hold of it. And I'm loving the Mercy Thompson series so far! The third one is on my "to read" pile, and the fourth one arrived yesterday. :)

Thanks! I don't know if I'll manage quite so many in February, but I'm going to give it a good go. :D

Not heard of Mitch Albom or Kate Summerscale, but love Patricia Briggs (and will second the rec for the Alpha and Omega series) and I had the Dawn French book for Christmas. It is as yet unread though - I only managed four books in January as I'm going through a fanfic stage at the moment and can't seem to do books at the same time. What, I'm just weird. :D

I love Mitch Albom, but this was the first book I'd read by Kate Summerscale. They're both good books, but are very, very diffent. :)

I've had the Mercy Thompson books for some time, but have only just got around to reading them. I'm loving them so far!

I'm the same when it comes to fanfic and books. I go through a stage of reading just fanfic, and then I'll go back to books again. :)
