Taking my mind off things...
Apr. 22nd, 2006 08:15 pmNew Doctor Who! Squee!! One thing, though. If you've got young children? Not a very good idea to let them watch this. It even scared *me* a little at times. It almost made me want to hide behind the sofa again, like I did when I was a child. ;)
Werewolf!! I loved the werewolf! I loved the Doctor! I loved Rose! I loved everything about this episode! The time flew by, it was so full of action. Plus...we got to hear DT's real accent! Squee!!
Yes, I am aware that I'm abusing the exclamation point, but I don't care! This was just what I needed tonight. This is television at its very best as far as I'm concerned. I'm a very satisfied girl tonight. :D
David Tennant is just so right as the Doctor. *sigh* Don't get me wrong, I still miss Nine (What? I do!), but I am completelyin lust with sold on Ten.
And Torchwood references! Yay! I am *so* looking forward to Torchwood, not least because it means I'll be getting to see Captain Jack again...and that can't be anything but good. *g*
And what about the preview for next week? ASH, K-9 *and* Sarah Jane! All in one episode. I can't wait! :D

Departing on Tueday. Will miss it and haven't the facility for recording any more thanks to an ancient TV with no scart connections. ::pouts::

Thanks for asking, I'm no where near recovered and am not looking forward to the trip but there is no way Italy is going to be postponed, I've spent years dreaming about this trip.
We just got back from visiting the Daughter in South London and I'm exhausted again. It was a 2 hour drive each way, via the North and South Circular. She's just sold the house after (full asking price after a day on the Estate Agents' books) spending much time and money puttting it to rights and getting it in beautiful decorative order and this was our last chance to see it before we set off. She'll probably be living somewhere in Wimbledon by the time we return. I bet she forgets to send us her new address!

I'm hearing lots of good things about it.
*smoochies*

Date: 2006-04-23 02:52 pm (UTC)That werewolf was so scary, and so was Queen Victoria at the end, banishing the Doctor and Rose and setting up Torchwood.
We all watched it together, and the girls cuddled up on my lap, burying their heads everytime it got too scary. Chris asked me afterwards if we should have let them (particularly Ellen) watch it, but it would have been practically impossible to stop them without major tantrums and hysterics. There were no resultant bad dreams last night, though.
Really looking forward to next weeks's ep, too.

Date: 2006-04-27 11:16 pm (UTC)I thought it was very scary for the time of night it was on, but it would be impossible to stop your children from watching it! I'm sure they were fine, with both you and Chris there to protect them from the scary werewolf. ;)
The next ep looks wonderful!

Date: 2006-05-02 11:35 pm (UTC)I loved the pre-change wolf ... definitely love to see more about where or what it was :)
I still miss Nine (What? I do!)
as well you should ... and I won't let you forget that ;P
they're definitely not letting anyone forget about Torchwood - just hope it actually lives up to the hype they're giving it!! *wheeeee*!! *joins in exclamation mark abuse*
