I've had a flu-like virus for the last few days. It's really knocked me for six. I seem to be getting worse every day, instead of better. As a result I've had some time on my hands, so I've been catching up on some TV watching.

Thanks to my good friend [livejournal.com profile] siklilgrl, I've now seen the first eleven episodes of Veronica Mars. I'll be watching the second half of the season over the next few days. I have to say...I love this show! I'm not going to compare it to BtVS, as I think it's a very different show, but I will say this - I doubt that I will ever love another show as much as I love BtVS and AtS, and I can't ever see me loving another character as much as I love Spike. They will always hold a special place in my heart, and I'm not planning on letting go of this fandom any time soon...but it's so nice to have a new show (or shows) to feel passionate about. :)

I was hooked on this show from the opening scene. The characters are very believable and they draw you in straight away. I love Veronica. She's sassy and bright, but with an underlying sadness about her. I love the flashbacks. Not only because they give us more information about the Lily Kane murder, but also because they give us an insight into all of the characters. I felt like I knew these people from the word go.

My second favourite character so far (after Veronica) is Weevil. I'm not sure what it is about him, but I warmed to him almost straight away. Even though he is such a bad ass (maybe that's the reason I like him so much *g*), he is very likeable. There is a certain vulnerability about him.

Now we get to Logan. I've tried to avoid spoilers as much as possible, but from all the icons I've seen on my flist, I know that Logan is a popular character. I have to admit that I didn't warm to him at first. I found him intriguing, but I wasn't sure that I liked him. That was at first. But the more I see him, the more fascinated I am by him. There is so much more to him than meets the eye. And I hate his father. He makes my skin crawl. *shudder*

Wallace is lovely. He makes me want to hug him. Not in a sexy way, you understand. He brings out the mother in me. I can't say that about Logan or Weevil. ;)

I adore Keith Mars. The relationship between him and Veronica is one of the things I love about this show. A father/daughter relationship can be such a wonderful thing...even if he turns out not to be Veronica's biological father. The possibility of Keith not being Veronica's real father crossed my mind very early on.

Duncan Kane. I still can't quite make my mind up about him. On the surface he seems like such a nice guy. But is he?

There are so many questions that need to be answered. The biggest one, of course, is "Who killed Lily Kane?" Hmm... I have some ideas going around in my head, but nothing concrete as of yet. Eleven more episodes to go...

I hope at least some of them are answered by the end of the season. :)

I finally got around to watching the last few episodes of Nip/Tuck, Season 2. Woah! What a shocking end to the season! Poor Christian! This second season of Nip/Tuck has been even better than the first. I can't wait until Season 3!

I've been watching House on the Hallmark channel for a while now. This is another show that I really love. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to accept Hugh Laurie in this kind of role. I couldn't imagine finding him sexy at all...not Hugh Laurie, the bumbling idiot I've been watching on my TV screen all these years! ;) But to my surprise, he is. He was made to play this role. Hugh Laurie is Dr House. I can't imagine anyone else playing him. Excellent show.

What can I say about Doctor Who? I adore this show. This is a show I feel very passionate about. I love Captain Jack...possibly because I've always liked John Barrowman, who plays him. CE is wonderful as the Doctor. I so wish he was staying for longer! But I think David Tennant will make a great Doctor, too. Not long until the end of the season. I'm going to miss my Saturday night fix. :(

These are two shows I'm going to be watching for the first time on DVD. I've watched the first few episodes of BSG so far and I love it. It hasn't hooked me in quite the same way that Veronica Mars has, but I am enjoying it. I'll definitely be watching Season 2.

For some reason I keep putting off watching Farscape. I think the reason for that is because I know I'm going to love it. And if I love it, I'll want to watch all four seasons, plus the mini series, as fast as I can. If I get hooked on a show, I can't stop watching it. So I'm holding off on Farscape for a while. At least with Veronica Mars, I only have one season to watch. :)

See, this is what happens when I'm ill and have too much time on my hands. :D

Thank you. I'm feeling much better. Now all I need to do is go through my flist. It should take me a week! ;)

*hugs*
