HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO [livejournal.com profile] sharelle!

I hope you have a wonderful day. *hugs*

It's been a while since I updated, but I haven't really had much to say. I've been on a bit of a downer (for various reasons), but haven't felt much like talking about it. Nothing can be done about the situation, so I just have to learn to live with it, I guess. *shrug*

There seems to be a positive vibe at the moment about the possibility of a Spike movie. I'm not sure how I feel about that. Of course I'd love a Spike movie, but only if it's handled well. I don't want a badly made TV movie, which spoils the wonderful story arc that Spike has been given up to now on BtVS and AtS. I guess what I'm saying is, I don't want Spike back at any cost. If it's done well, with a strong storyline, then I'll welcome it with open arms. But I'm concerned that it won't be. I'd still watch (that goes without saying), but I'd mourn the loss of the Spike I know and love. I suppose only time will tell...

I hope everyone is having a wonderful time at the Houston Con. I'm looking forward to hearing all about it when you get home, you lucky people! :D

I'm with you on the thoughts about the Spike movie. Another thing that worries me is that I really don't think that James can pass for young enough to fit with Spike's theoretical age any more.

I've a feeling that shanshu may well be on the cards if the film ever gets made. It has to be the next part in the character's development, particularly if DAvid is adamant about not playing Angel again. I watched an old interview where James talks about Spike's philosophy on life beginning to include the pain that's involved in being human, that he begins to go down that road after getting his soul back.

Cal So sorry to hear you're down. There's a lot of that going around at the moment. Like you said, if there's nothing to be done, all we can do is endure it.

I've been thinking shanshu as well. As I said, if there is a movie and it's done well, I'll be over the moon about it. :)

Cal So sorry to hear you're down.

Thank you. *hugs*

As long as it's done within the next year or two, I think James could get away with it. If it's any longer than that and there's no shanshu, I don't think he could.

Thanks, Cal! *hug* The warm wishes have made it wonderful already! (And I completely understand the feeling of not wanting to write about certain things. Just know that people are thinking of you, and will be supportive if and when you do need to vent.)

I totally agree about the movie. Additions to the fandom story arc would be wonderful, but not if the price is disappointment in what we've grown to love. (It would be especially hard if a badly made tv movie ends up being the last we see of the Jossverse on-screen.) You're right; only time will tell. (I can hope that JM will only sign on for the project if it's going to be well done and loyal to the character he's helped to build.)

Thank you. *hugs*

As for the Spike movie, I want it to be done well or not at all. We'll have to see what happens. :)

{{{Cal}}} I hope you find some bright spots in the day. (Dr. Who!!)

I totally agree with you about the Spike movie. Now, if it was a TV series, I think Joss would be able to do it up right. Angel as a TV series worked well because of his search for redemption. Spike would need a purpose. I think that would be interesting to see Joss explore.

But one movie - I don't know. OF course, I'll still watch just to see JM's blue eyes, if nothing else.

Love you,
K

Doctor Who was wonderful last night. I loved it! Definitely made me feel better. *g*

You know how much I love Spike, but I have real concerns about this movie (if it happens). I'd watch it (of course!) even if it was bad. If I can watch JM in The Mountain, I'll watch him in anything. ;) And I miss Spike so much! *sigh*

I completely agree with you about the Spike movie. Make it good, or don't make it at all. There were times during Season 5 of Angel that I was a little disappointed with what they were doing with his character (jumping Harmony? Yuck!).

I hope the rest of your day goes well.

*hugs*

I loved him in S5 AtS (apart from the Harmony thing...ITA with you on that! *shudder*), but I only want a Spike movie if it's done well.

Thanks for the hugs. {{{Caraleigh}}}

Nice to see you. hope your back is better, and that K is feeling better than she was before Easter as well.

(If you want something totally silly to amuse you for 5 minutes I put up Bagpuss2 over Easter whilst you weren't around - I know this is terrible self-pimping, but I remember that you liked the first one!)

It's nice to see you, too. I read about your car accident. Are you and S2C okay?? Even a minor accident can knock you about quite a bit. *hugs*

My back is much better, thank you. K is over her virus, but is now home until April 12th for the school holidays. *sigh*

Thanks for letting me know about Bagpuss2! I must have missed that. I'll definitely be reading that. I could do with a giggle! :)

We're fine - slightly stiff necks on mine and his part, our K (Katherine) was in the back and she says she is absolutely fine today. The woman behind was just tailgating us and not concentrating, but the traffic was only going at about 20mph anyway, so actually S2C thought at first that I'd done something involving slamming MY breaks on, and didn't twig that we'd been shunted! He only thought about whiplash when I asked specifically whilst I got her address and things whether his and K's necks were OK - so you can tell it wasn't too bad!

I didn't realise K was in the car with you. Thank goodness it wasn't too serious!
