Sparkly vampires are not for me...

I went to see The Twilight Saga: Eclipse with K this afternoon. She's been wanting to see it for ages, but I have to admit to being less than enthusiastic at the thought of sitting through two hours of sparkly vampires. But I finally gave in and agreed to go with her today. The things I do for that daughter of mine! *g*

To be fair, it wasn't that bad - in fact, I quite enjoyed it. I still find sparkly Edward and the Edward/Bella romance boring, but there were some great action scenes, and I quite like the werewolves. Team Jacob all the way for me! :D

I thought the movie was awesome fun covered in awesome sauce. By the time Jacob came bounding out of the blizzard with no shirt I laughed until I cried. EPIC!! It makes me giggle now just to think about it.

Plus - the movie was packed with teenage girls cheering every time one of the hotties appeared on the screen. It was wunnerful.

It was one of the best bad movies I've ever seen and well worth the price of admission.

My sister asked if I wanted to go see it with her while I was visiting (knowing my opinion of Twilight), and I said I'd go but we'd have to sit in the back because I wasn't sure I could refrain from heckling! We didn't go. I'm sure the movie, in and of itself, wouldn't be terrible. It's the story that I don't like.

The movie is cheesy as hell, but there are some great action scenes. And Taylor Lautner (Jacob) is shaping up to be a good actor. But I can't stand Edward or the Edward/Bella romance. He's got to be the most boring vampire ever!

Yeah, I think a good part of the attraction of vampires is that they are "bad boys", even the ones who have made a turn toward good (*Spike* cough *Spike*) Edward being just good (and boring) negates the thrill factor of his being a (supposed) vampire.
