I never thought I would ever actually be saying this, but it would have to be The Vampire Diaries.



When The Vampire Diaries first started, I thought it was just going to be one long mockable cheesefest. And after the first couple of episodes, that prediction appeared to be coming true. But then the story improved, the plot progressed at a fast pace, and I found myself falling a little bit in love with Damon Salvatore it.

The Vampire Diaries has strong, interesting and believable characters, and a story arc that keeps you wanting to come back for more. The relationship and history between the Salvatore brothers is fascinating, as is the unfolding story arc of Elena and her heritage.

I like all of the characters, but my favourite character by far is Damon Salvatore (played by the wonderful Ian Somerhalder, who played Boone in Lost), who gets more and more complex and interesting with every episode.

The Vampire Diaries will be airing its season finale on Thursday in the US, and has already been renewed for a second season.

I'm glad I decided to stick with the show after its less than perfect start, as it has turned out to be so much better than I ever would have thought possible. I'm looking forward to Thursday's finale, and will be eagerly anticipating the return of the show in the autumn.

yes, I was totally stunned by how I loved Vampire diaries as well ... having not got into true Blood, this is a great series ... can't wait for the next episode ...can you?

I was taken completely by surprise at how quickly I fell for the show. I love True Blood and Being Human too, but find them all so completely different that I can enjoy them all.

I can't wait to see what happens next! :D

On the exact same page with you regarding Vampire Diaries. I expected it to be something akin to a cross between Twilight and High School Musical, but after a few episodes it really grabbed me.

I knew it had some legs behind it when I realized my husband kept coming up with excuses to be in the room whenever it was on. Now he's there 5 minutes before it's supposed to start and pushes me to make sure I have the right channel on.

There's no dull moments in this show, that's for sure! You never know what's going to happen next.
And yeah, Damon is a fascinating character and I like him much for the same reasons I love Spike. But I do have a soft spot for Stefan, too...
This is the only must-see show for me at the moment, and I'm definitely looking forward to the season finale tomorrow! :)

Damon is a fascinating character

He really is! I seem to have a thing for a certain type of vampire. First Spike, then Eric (from True Blood) and now Damon. *g*

But I do have a soft spot for Stefan, too...

Oh, so do I! I've warmed to him more and more with every episode.

I can't wait for the season finale!
