Brief Marstersclass Report
May. 4th, 2009 01:40 amAfter a nightmare journey to London on Saturday (we ended up arriving well over an hour late), K and I had a fabulous time at the Marstersclass event.
James was as lovely as ever, and the Masterclass itself was wonderful. James and Gareth work perfectly together. And while I'm not a huge fan of Ianto, Gareth is a joy to watch and listen to (but only when he's talking, not singing ;)). They make a great double act!
James looked and sounded fantastic at the concert. His voice cracked a little on 'Katie' at the very beginning of the set, but other than that he sounded wonderful! There was a lot of eye contact with the audience throughout the concert, and at one point he turned and gave K the most wonderful smile. I wish I could have taken a photograph of that moment! :D
I'll post a more detailed report over the next day or two, but all in all we had a fabulous time.
Got home late Saturday night after a much faster and uneventful journey.
It was so nice to meet up with friends both old and new - and I finally got to have a proper conversation with
gillo and to meet
debris4spike for the first time. Thank you to everyone for helping to make the Marstersclass event such a memorable one! And an extra special thank you goes to
deedee7daydiary and her lovely Mum for being such good company all day. *hugs to you all*
From the reports I've read so far, it sounds as though everyone had a great time at the 100 Club gig tonight! Yay! :D

Date: 2009-05-04 12:55 am (UTC)The event itself was called 'Marstersclass', but during the event JM and GDL did an acting Masterclass, where they talked about the acting process and then acted out two scenes (one from BtVS and one from TW). First they acted it the way it's supposed to be done, then they showed us (hilariously) how NOT to do it.
So we got to see James play Spike live on stage! :D
The whole event was wonderful from start to finish. *g*

Date: 2009-05-04 01:10 am (UTC)What was the part that didn't sound right like?
Hilarious! James and Gareth work so well together. And Gareth has a wonderful sense of comic timing. :D
They did a scene from 'The Yoko Factor', with Gareth playing Giles, followed by a scene from the TW ep 'Kiss Kiss Bang Bang', with Gareth playing Ianto (of course) and James playing Captain Jack. I don't think I've ever laughed as much as I did when they were doing the 'bad' versions!
It was definitely a day to remember. :D

Date: 2009-05-04 06:16 pm (UTC)Missed not meeting up with you both - seems like forever since I last saw you!
As it was my significant lack of organisation skills meant I didn't make it to any of the events, although I'd planned to go to 100 club, but ended up not making it (although as you weren't going to be there, I wouldn't have seen you!) - do you have any plans to go to the Halloween events?
*hugs*
