I received an LJ reminder a couple of days ago telling me that today would have been [livejournal.com profile] nandibble's birthday. It saddens me to think that Nan will not be able to see these birthday wishes. I still miss her more than I can say. She was someone who I consider to be one of the best writers the Buffyverse has ever known, someone whose writing I admired, but more than that, she was someone who I loved and admired as a person.

Happy Birthday, Nan.

I wish I'd gotten into fandom sooner, so I could have met her. Though I only know her through her writing, I too raise a glass to her in recognition of the amazing gift she shared with us.

I didn't know this was her birthday. How interesting...last week I started rereading her incomparable "Blood" series. I'm in "The Blood is the Life" now, and I'm awed all over again by how wonderful it all is.

Hear, hear. Well said, sweetie. She was a kind and talented person, and I still miss her and think of her, too.

This just fills me with sadness. I do still think of her often and miss her, too. She was something else. *sigh*

Thanks so much for the post, Cal.

*hugs you tight*

It's good to remember those who have gone. They still live on that way.

I got the reminder too. I just can't "defriend" her. I nearly posted something like this as well. She should be remembered and mentioned for all she was and all she left behind. We were blessed.

I didn't get an Email reminder, so I'm glad I didn't miss the opportunity to commemorate her on her special day. You wouldn't believe how often I think of her. I miss her wit and humor, shrewd insight and intelligence, and her kindness. She had such a shitty time of it for so long, and was only finally reaching the light at the end of the tunnel when death took her...I didn't realize the double meaning of what I just said until I read it over. I hadn't thought of it like *that*, but it's apt, I suppose.

I'm very glad for all the online conversations I participated in with her, for her fabulous writing both meta and fic, and for the all too brief RL meeting. I treasure her memory.

Raises glass in toast, with you.

I still think of Nan from time to time, and when I do, I visualize her in her miniped, hair flying, and her thoughts multi-focusing on riding safely and writing another BtVS fic.

As you say, the archive of Nan's work is great to have, but doesn't compare to having Nan
