Insane Journal...and Fandoms Colliding!

My Insane Journal
I definitely like it more than Greatest Journal. LJ is still going to be my main journal, but I think I'm going to use IJ as somewhere to escape to when I need to. It has a very similar style to here...and there are already lots of familiar names over there! :)
I think my head is about to explode from all the fandom colliding that's been going on lately! First we hadSam Tyler John Simm from Life on Mars turning up on Doctor Who (as The Master no less...how cool was that?!) And then we had our very own Spike James Marsters landing a guest spot on Torchwood with the delectable John Barrowman (who I've been a fan of for years...long before he was on Doctor Who). Yay! :D
Now, I've made no secret of the fact that I found S1 of Torchwood disappointing (maybe I was expecting too much?), although it did have a few good episodes that prevented it from being a complete failure to me (imo). But that hasn't stopped me from being a complete and utter fangirl where Captain Jack Harkness is concerned. He's a much better character on Doctor Who (again only imo), but I have high hopes that we're going to see more of the Jack that we know and love in S2 of Torchwood after his stint with The Doctor in S3 of Doctor Who. So to get JM and JB in the same show together? On my TV screen at the same time? Is like fandom heaven to me. *happy sigh* Really can't wait to see that! :D
And of course we can't forget Nine himself, the lovely Christopher Eccleston, who turned up this year as a guest star in my new addiction Heroes. Another actor who I've admired for years (I'll never forget his role in Cracker (the UK version) all those years ago).
Speaking of Heroes, how great is that show? I'm watching it on the Sci-Fi channel over here and I'm loving it so far. So many twists and turns...and of course the time-travel element, which is something that will always lure me in to watching a show. So many wonderful characters! I think I've found myself yet another new fandom to get involved in. In fact, apart from Life on Mars, I don't think I've been this excited about a show since BtVS first aired. And that's saying something! :)
Don't worry, though. My heart still belongs to Spike and the Buffyverse. ;)

Date: 2007-06-21 11:57 pm (UTC)I haven't seen any Heroes. I went into an almighty strop with VirginMedia when we lost 'Lost' and 'Dresden' and haven't watched much, other than Dr Who.
My heart still belongs to Spike and the Buffyverse.
Snap!

Date: 2007-06-22 05:31 pm (UTC)Torchwood was patchy, as Who is also, imho, but overall, I liked it
I think the Welsh connection being so 'cwl' affects my perspections:)

Nothing before or since. I can't imagine anything else motivating me to write fanfic.
Enjoy Cardiff. I won't be there, so wave at Bendy and Debs for me.
