Hmm...there seems to be quite a bit of JM bashing going on at the moment.

All I have to say is that my JM love continues as strong as ever.  I love JM as Spike, but I love him as himself just as much.  Yes, the guys a dork...but I love him for it.  Yes, the black shirt was awful...but he's never been known for having a good sense of fashion, has he?

I can't wait to see what he does next.  Acting, music, or whatever, I'll be there to support him.

He's not perfect.  He's not Spike.  He's just a man.  And a mighty fine one at that.

I really don't get why people even bash actors. I mean, really.

First of all, seeing the guy at a few appearances doesn't make anyone the expert on how he really is in every day life. These appearances are not 'normal' events. Second of all, people have short memories. They all loved him at the various conventions and conferences he's done but now, because of an appearance or two, they bash him?

Whatever.

All I have to say is... this is exactly why SMG doesn't do this kind of stuff. People get cruel for no other reason than having nothing better to do. They should just be grateful he takes time out to show up for the fans instead of hating on him.

I liked the black shirt...I liked almost seeing all of his chest. And the hairs were very sexy because he was so bare as Spike.

I've seen quite a bit of JM bashing on LJ over the last couple of days. Criticising the man doesn't bother me...but why do they have to be so nasty about it? Makes my blood boil.

The shirt didn't do it for me...the chest, however...well, that's a different story. ;)

I've only read a few sites and things seemed to be favorable.

But I do know how you feel. I've often felt the same way about DB. How often did/do fans of his have to read that he couldn't act, was fat, bloated, stiff, wooden...the list goes on and on.

I've often felt like that with DB. Some of the comments I've read about him have been awful. All of this silly rivalry. I love both of them. *sigh*

I'm not above making negative comments about an actor because let's face it I'm human and I have the right to an opinion. But, just as I think some people take their Spike love to far, I think they also take their JM likes/dislikes too seriously as well.

Just because you see someone at an event, doesn't mean you know them. Just because he shows up with a woman, shouldn't upset you, but make you happy he's happy. JM is giving back to his fans, he doesn't have to do that.

The man is just that, a man. And human.

Negative comments are okay...I'm not above making them myself...but when it gets so nasty and personal, that's different. Some people *do* take their Spike (or their Angel) love too far. And yes, they take their JM/DB likes and dislikes too seriously as well. Maybe I do, too..I don't know.

Right you are, Ma'am; I can't quite get the whole drive to dis people just because they're doofuses. I like doofi, I married one and have a sneaking suspicion I am one most of the time, no matter how much more careful I am about the way I dress in public.

I think its amusing that people get so upset when JM and DB behave the way guys behave sometimes. Some kids are in for a RUDE awakening about guys, if that one convention was so very upsetting to them.

It was the TV appearances in the UK that have come under fire, too. I loved him (and DB) on them. They were just having fun...nothing wrong with that. And as I said, I adore dorky James. It's one of the things I love about him...and what sets him apart from Spike (to me).

I get very protective of him. I can't help myself. *g*
