I've been out tonight, so I've only just seen the finale.

I loved it. It broke my heart and I cried like a baby, but I loved it.

I'm going to miss Rose, Jackie and Mickey.

I'm excited to see where S3 will take us from here, but it's going to take me a while to get over losing Rose. I didn't think it would hit me quite as hard as this, but it has. I'm used to seeing companions come and go, but this time I think I've allowed myself to get too emotionally involved with the Doctor/Rose.

To me, it was the perfect end to the season. If Rose had to go at all, then that was the way to do it.

The Doctor and Rose with their hands pressed on either side of the wall. It reminded me so much of Buffy and Spike with their hands against the crypt door! *happy sigh* A coincidence? Or more proof that the writers of Doctor Who are Buffy fans?

Billie and David acted their socks off in their final scenes together.

Poor Rose. Poor Doctor.

My heart broke for them.

But at least Rose didn't really die. She could come back at a later stage. I'm going to hold on to that for the time being.

Where the hell did the bride come from? :)

Next up: Torchwood and Captain Jack! :D

I am so excited about Torchwood!

It will be interesting to see how the Doctor and his new companion will interact with each other. And the Doctor and Captain Jack.

Oh my. Poor Rose. Poor Doctor. Tears from both of them.

*sigh*

I know I definitely did. I may just have to write fic. :(

Have you seen it yet? Such a wonderful finale, but so heartbreaking. *sniff*

I may just have to write fic.

Every cloud has a silver lining. Doctor/Rose fic from you? Would make me very happy. :)

I've actually watched it twice already (thank God for DSL!!). I'm a glutton for punishment.

You are very sweet. I know there MUST be another tiny rip in that universe somewhere... ;)

Did I miss your birthday? It seems to me it's right around this time of year, isn't it?

I've only watched it once so far, but I'll be watching it again very soon. Seems like we're both a glutton for punishment! Did Spuffy not teach us *anything*? *sigh*

Without a doubt! :)

You didn't miss it. It's on the 23rd of this month. :)

Yes, that's exactly how I felt about it. It was gorgeous, and however sad it was, that last scene was suffused with hope.

The image of Rose and the Doctor pressing their hands to the wall was so lovely, and I loved that it seemed to say that in their mirror worlds the two of them would go on backing each other up.

I love the idea of them backing each other up wherever they are. Nicely put, Anna! :)

I was really scared she was going to die when her hand slipped off the lever. The dad rescue was awesome, beautifully done. And the closure was well done too. And the teaser for the future, good plan not ending on the angst.

I watched part of the 'making of' afterwards. Terry Nation? was lovely on how he wouldn't kill her.

I'm a long time watcher, so is the husband. We had a long chat the changing of 'The Doctor' from grandfather to his presenr incarnation.

I was scared she was going to die, too. I'm so glad they didn't kill her off! I think it works much better this way. :)

I'm a long time watcher, too. I vaguely remember Jon Pertwee, but Tom Baker was the doctor I watched when I was a little girl. It's interesting when you think of the first incarnation to the present incarnation.

I've never actually watched Doctor Who. I love BBC but have been told it's a science fiction show and I try to stear clear of any sci fi besides Joss and Twilight Zone (I'm already a comic book and film nerd, I don't need to be a trekkie or something on top of that) but I keep hearing good things about it. Is Doctor Who really that spiffy? Is it funny?

I've watched Doctor Who since I was a little girl. It isn't for everyone, but I love it! It does have its funny moments, but it can be quite serious at times, too. Give it a try. You might find you like it! :)

I have now seen Doctor Who and I love it. I've only seen the 9th and 10th Doctor though, David Tennant is definetly my favorite, he's a wonderful actor. I haven't seen the finale yet because I have to get series two on the internet

I'm so glad you like it! I think I like Nine and Ten more or less equally. I agree that David Tennant is a wonderful actor. I've liked him in everything I've seen him in! :)

Me too. I miss her terribly already, and I'm used to seeing companions come and go too. At least the Doctor had learned something from Sarah Jane and gave Rose a proper farewell. And maybe, just maybe, there's another little rip in the universe somewhere...

I'm watching it right now and sobbin like a baby. I can't believe it's over. Rose and the Doctor *sniffle*. I hope she comes back, they work so well together. OMG! He's crying! Oh lord, this is killing me! Feel like my heart's being squeezed. Very, very, very, VERY good. I can't tell you how much I love this series. Fanfic, here we come. :)

If Rose had to go at all, then that was the way to do it.
I was sniffling from the minute the Doctor told Rose she had to go ... and his cry when he thought she'd fell *meep* ... so many goodbye scenes to choose from - he sends her away to be safe - to have her come back (as if she'd let destroying the universe stand between her and the Doctor!), her falling and him screaming - to have her be saved at the last moment, the wall scene *sniffle*, and finally the big goodbye in Bad Wolf Bay ...
I loved the bit in Doctor Who Confidential where they said that the only way Rose would ever leave the Doctor is if there was a whole universe between them, and that the Doctor definitely loved her ... and the retorspective of her with Nine hammered that home *loves them all*

It was such a good exit for Rose. I loved it, even though it broke my heart in two! *sniffle*

It was so sad and really beautiful, and I just hope that they do something completely different with the new companion. I hadn't intended to watch it as I'd not seen last week's episode, but just couldn't stop myself, and then sat there with a great lump in my throat. I taped it yesterday and will watch both eps together one afternoon this week, without the children jabbering about what's going on.

If you find some good Dr/Rose fic that twists this ending, let me know. And roll on Torchwood!

It was so moving, and yes also very beautiful. I loved it. I don't want there to be any romantic vibes between the Doctor and the new companion. It wouldn't seem right so soon after Rose! :)

I'll let you know if I find any fanfic.
