I think I'll probably have more to say about this episode after I've seen the second part next week. I thought that it was a good, strong ep...and I'm liking Mickey more and more each week. I've always liked the actor who plays him, but his character is growing on me more and more. It was great to finally get some Mickey backstory. I have to admit I teared up a little in the scene with his Grandmother. So much guilt and heartache there!

I'm still loving David Tennant as the Doctor. It doesn't hurt that he's so pretty to look at either! DT in a tux. What more could a girl ask for? *sigh* Well...except for JM in a tux, of course (you lucky, lucky LA people!). *g*

I have to admit that I'm missing Captain Jack. I know we're going to be seeing him in Torchwood (and yay for more Torchwood references this week), but I'm missing his interactions with Rose and the Doctor. He was the totally unexpected highlight of S1 for me and I'm missing him so much more than I thought I would.

I also have to say that even though Roger Lloyd Pack makes an excellent villain, I can't help but think of Trigger from "Only Fools And Horses" every time I see him. I think he will always be Trigger to me...and I will always remember him calling Rodney "Dave" every time he saw him. Hee! :D

So that's it for this week. More on the story as a whole next Saturday. :)

The beginning was a bit slow maybe? Husband and I put it down to teh two parterness.

Yes, Mickey b'story was good to hear and the other Mickey also interesting to see, not ahint of comic relief there and yes DT is pretty to look at. the glasses are a cute touch.

I love the whole show, adore DT, but know exactly what you mean about Trigger. Some actors will always have their “character” on their shoulders. Let’s face it, every time I see Ross Kemp in a play I wonder what Grant Mitchell is doing out of Walford.

Oh, dear! I was thinking about Trigger too.

I like Mickey. I always have. In fact, I like him a great deal better than Rose.

The dinner jacket looked hot. I thought it a bit slow but full of nuggets of goodness.

I didn't watch many of the last few years of OFAH, so the Trigger effect didn't bother me so much.

Yikes! I have already panned this eppie in response to a post at my friend, [livejournal.com profile] padfoot_uk's LJ. You might wanna check her out as she writes Dr Who fanfic as well and is a total mad moo about the weaselly DT. *grins*

I kept waiting for the episode to get going 'cos I'd forgotten it was a 2-parter. But did enjoy it. Love it when he gets all giddy and starts pulling bits of the tardis apart!!

and I will always remember him calling Rodney "Dave" every time he saw him.

Which leads me to one of my favourite ever lines in Only Fools and Horses:

"If it's a girl then they're gonna call it Sigourney, after an actress. If it's a boy, then they're gonna call it Rodney, after Dave!"

Roll on next Saturday.

I agree that the beginning was a bit slow. I think it's always better to review a two parter as a whole, but I couldn't resist writing down my initial reactions! *g*

DT is very pretty! :D

I love the show and adore DT, too. I really am loving him as The Doctor! :D

I think the problem with RLP and Trigger is the fact that I'm always coming across old eps of OFAH, so he is still so familiar to me in that role. And yes...I know exactly what you mean about Ross Kemp! *g*

You can't help but think of Trigger. *g*

I've always liked Mickey, but he's grown on me even more lately. I suppose that means something horrible will happen to him some time soon! Poor Mickey!

Definitely hot...and definitely a bit slow. :) I think two parters tend to start off a little bit more slowly.

But it's so much *fun*!! *g*

Hee! Another one who's toatally moo about DT. :D He's no Spike, but at least he gives me something new to drool over watch! *grins*

Yep, two parters tend to be a bit slow to start off with...but it was an enjoyable ep. Giddy DT is always a joy to watch! :D

Judging by today's Radio Times, I suspect so.
