I watched Unrealized Reality, Kansas and Terra Firma last night. I also watched the beginning of Twice Shy, but I'll talk about that when I've seen the whole episode.

I'm watching Farscape for the first time. I'd love it if you joined me in some discussion, but please don't spoil me beyond Terra Firma. I'd also appreciate any fic, vid or graphic recs. Thank you! :)

I loved, loved, LOVED all three of these episodes! I already know, without a doubt, that they are going to be amongst the episodes I rewatch time and time again. UR was very confusing at first, but I think I understood it in the end. So much to take in and think about! How excited was I to see Crais again, however briefly? And then, of course, John couldn't help but think about Earth as well as Moya when he thought about home (at least, I THINK that's what happened) and ended up floating in space with Earth in front of him! Wow! Only it turned out to be the Earth of the 1980's. Double wow! :D

I loved Kansas to itty bitty pieces. Every last minute of it was wonderful! So many funny moments, moving moments and...Rygel! Rygel cracks me up in this. And D'Argo! I know I don't mention D'Argo very often, but I adore him so much. Then there was Chiana becoming John's first, and John touching his Mom's face. Such a moving moment. *sigh* John kissing his younger self on the forehead, Aeryn dressed in that outfit...I could go on forever. Time travel is such a big kink of mine anyway, so Kansas worked for me on so many different levels. Just amazing!

Which brings me to Terra Firma. I think I now have a new favourite Farscape episode. This episode was amazing from start to finish. I can't even put into words how much I loved it. From seeing John's father at the beginning, to leaving Earth at the end, this was one long rollercoaster ride of emotion. And yes, I cried when John had to say goodbye to his family at the end. He really had no choice, did he? The scene between John and Aeryn before the alien crashed through the window was filled with raw emotion. I so want to know what John was going to say! Again, there are so many wonderful moments in TF that I could go on and on about them.

And now Aeryn knows about John taking the drug to forget about her. What will be her reaction to that? Are John and Aeryn ever going to find true happiness together? I can't wait to find out! :)

Oh, Kansas! Every bit of it is wonderful, but Aeryn in the op art pantsuit, Cher to the life, and then, at the end, jumping over the wall in her black leather, suddenly entirely alien- little grace notes of production design like that are the difference between great TV and the other 90% of what's on.

Not to mention the jack o'lantern.

Anyway, what is being set up about the drug won't be resolved until much later in the season, but it will be resolved. You've got a roller-coaster ahead of you, though.

Julia, almost jealous, again, at the thought of seeing this unfold for the first time and without huge damned delays

I don't think I got the chance to see more than two or three episodes of season 4. You'll have to let me know how you like it. I may have to see about renting it. :( Loved season three, though. And the Peacekeeper Wars. Liked that one, too.

I just recently finished going through the show for the first time, and I really enjoyed these episodes as well. "Terra Firma" rocked. I thought "Kansas" was a little disappointing in retrospect.

I'm trying to take my time with the rest of the series. I don't want this rollercoaster to end! *sigh*

Season 4 gets off to a slow start, but the later episodes more than make up for it. Some of the best episodes of the series. I'd definitely consider renting it on DVD. :)

I've no doubt my opinion will change once I've seen the whole series. Still got quite a few episodes to watch yet.

Thanks for your comment. :)

Heh. By "in retrospect" I actually meant "after having seen 'Terra Firma'," because it was so good it made "Kansas" seem like pointless filler.

LOL! In that case I'm in complete agreement with you. "Terra Firma" is my favourite episode so far. Just amazing! :D
