The new LJ app looks much better than the previous version. You can read your flist, add photos, post polls, and I think you can even comment. :)

Now let's just hope it works...

ETA: Yes, it works. You can comment, but it doesn't look like you can respond to comments direct from the app. Still good, though!

As soon as I get my iPhone, I will definitely be trying out this app... still suffering with my broken Blackberry for a while yet :(

I think I'm waiting until they get one that's an actual iPad app -- for me, it's easier to compose in mail and copy/paste to the web page itself at this point.

Does the iPhone not just let you surf out to Livejournal.com?

The app is much easier to use on the iPhone than copy/pasting, but I can see why it wouldn't be as convenient on the iPad. :)

How are you finding the iPad to use? I'll probably wait until the next gen before I take the plunge, but I have to admit to being completely envious of you! ;)

It does, but it's easier to navigate using the app. :)

I'm loving it. It'll be four weeks this Friday and I've had almost no buyer's remorse, which is very unusual for me with big ticket items. The fact I don't have to lug my laptop around is great and I'm definitely starting to get the hang of the keyboard. (Am typing my reply on it since I'm at lunch.)

Does it totally replace my laptop? Not anymore than the iPhone does for folks who have one, but as a combo web surfing device/video player/ebook reader/portable word processor, it's pretty cool. There are a few thugbs that bug me a little, but the more I use it, the more I find how to get around those limitations. I have actually taken this up to Starbucks to do writing, as well as a few sessions at home when it gets too hot to have the laptop on my lap. The great thing? Since I can't multi-task in this thing, if I'm writing, I have to focus, and can't go running out on the web for "just a minute" to Check my Twitter or LJ.

I so need to finish my iPad icon.
