My top ten favourite male characters of all time (TV shows):

1. Spike (BtVS)
2. Desmond Hume (Lost)
3. Fox Mulder (The X-Files)
4. Eric Northman (True Blood)
5. Damon Salvatore (The Vampire Diaries)
6. Gene Hunt (Life on Mars - UK)
7. The Doctor (Doctor Who)
8. Angel (AtS)
9. Dean Winchester (Supernatural)
10. Sam Tyler (Life on Mars - UK)

And just because I don't want to leave them out, the next five would be:

11. Castiel (Supernatural)
12. John Crichton (Farscape)
13. Bill Compton (True Blood)
14. Sam Beckett (Quantum Leap)
15. Daniel Faraday (Lost)

This is by no means a definitive list, and is likely to change at any given time. The only two that I can't see changing positions any time soon are Spike and Desmond. :)

Because I am in much agreement with you on the shows I've seen (though, kinda like you, Spike's the only one with his place set in stone), I'm gonna have to add the shows I haven't seen to my watch list, aren't I?

We do seem to enjoy a lot of the same shows! Which ones haven't you seen yet?

Spike will always be my number one. But I really do love Desmond too! He was such a great character on Lost. I'm going to miss him (and the show) so much. :(
