Day 06 - Favorite episode of your favorite TV show

This would be easier if I could pick my favourite episode of any TV show, which isn't actually a BtVS episode (I'll come to that later on in the meme). But to pick just one episode of Buffy? Not easy.

Okay, I've thought long and hard about this, and I can't choose just one. So I've decided to name my joint favourite episodes of the Buffyverse:

Fool For Love and Once More, With Feeling

Fool For Love

This is the episode that finally gave us Spike's backstory. After a lucky escape from a vampire, Buffy seeks out Spike to ask him about the last battles of the two slayers he killed. In exchange for money, he not only tells Buffy why they lost their battles, but also of his history as gentle poet William, and how he was turned into a vampire by Drusilla.

I loved Spike from the moment I first saw him in S2, but it never even crossed my mind that Spike and Buffy could ever get together as a couple. Not even Something Blue (as much as I love it) could convince me of that. But in early S5 Spike fell in love with Buffy...and then came Fool for Love, and that was that. My ~~obsession with~~ love of Spuffy was born and I've never looked back since.

But not only was Fool For Love the episode that sealed my love of Spike and Buffy as a couple, it was also an excellent episode in its own right. There's nothing about it that I don't like. It's the episode that not only gave us William the 'Bloody Awful Poet' - but also gave us Punk Spike. How awesome is that?!

And that final scene with Spike and Buffy on the back porch? Pure perfection.

Once More, With Feeling

I'm a huge fan of musicals, so to have my favourite show do one was a dream come true. This is, without a doubt, my most rewatched episode of the show. I adore it. It could have been a disaster, but instead it turned out to be a classic. How could anyone not love it?

The more I talk about BtVS, the more I realise just how much I miss it. :(
