Thanks For The Memory - Spuffy style

Thanks for the memory:
Of things I can't forget, the journey that we had,

All those years in Sunnydale, the good times and the bad.

How lucky I was.
And thanks for the memory:
Of quiet times on the porch,

We even had a crypt for two, but didn't stop to see

How cozy it was.
Now since we parted I wake up
Alone on a grey morning after.

I long for the sound of your laughter,
Of holding you and loving you, and playing kitten poker.

But, thanks for the memory:
Of every touch a thrill. I've been through the mill.

I've lived a lot and learned a lot, you loved me not and still;

I miss you so much.
Thanks for the memory:
Of how you used to fight, each and every night.

The way you moved, the way we danced
Was really quite a sight.
Thanks for the memory:
Of sizzling kisses in the Bronze, even one to song

The house fell down around us, but still we carried on

How intense it was.
Thanks for the memory:
Of loving you that night, before the final fight.

You believed in me, you saw my soul
Our hands were clasped so tight.

Gone are those evenings in Sunnydale,
Together we put on a great show.

But though I fight, to do what's right

It's not the same without you.
I know it's a fallacy:
That vampires never cry, baby, that's a lie.

We found our love in Sunnydale, of that I can't deny.

And I thank you so much.

Date: 2008-05-23 09:55 am (UTC)I admit, every once in a while I get cynical about Spike and Buffy - like, how lame am I, to be so emotionally wrapped up in this imaginary romance that played out (somewhat) on a "kids'" television program. And I feel vaguely ashamed of myself for it.
Then something comes along like this lovely picspam, and I fall in love with them all over again.
Thank you, for bringing me back to the truth!
