TV query...and Torchwood

Does anyone on my flist have any idea when the next new episode of Heroes will be shown in the US? I've fallen in love with this show and I'm missing my fix. :)

And also...how hot was that kiss between Jack/Jack in the last but one episode of Torchwood? Slash pairings don't usually do anything for me, but even I could see how hot that was! *melts*

I've found this first series of Torchwood a bit hit and miss (which was disappointing, as I'd been looking forward to it), but it really redeemed itself for me in the last few episodes. The fact that the 1940's are my favourite time period probably had something to do with it, and the final episode literally had me on the edge of my seat! I loved the final scene ("the right kind of Doctor"...squee!) and am now eagerly awaiting S3 of Doctor Who and S2 of Torchwood. :)

But that kiss... *fans self*

:D

You take the guy responsible for Queer as Folk and give him a TV slot late enough to avoid the little kiddies. Of course there's going to be m/m...

and a fair bit of it at that - not that I'm complaining in the least.

Though I'd have been equally happy for it to end with the hand hold, given the period.

I was quite shocked by the openness of the display for the time period. I even found myself wondering whether it was really the Germans who shot him down or a bunch of homophobic Brits.

Still Tales just can't be bothered to log out and back in again

Ah, of course, it was one of those self-fulfilling circular prophecy things. Gay kiss = shot down = gay kiss ;)

Or he did 'the honourable thing'...

I have to admit that as hot as I found the kiss, I was surprised they took it that far considering the time period.

I even found myself wondering whether it was really the Germans who shot him down or a bunch of homophobic Brits.

It would definitely be a possibility if it had really been the '40's instead of a TV show. :)

It did seem reckless for the period. I'm not sure what sort of evidence was needed for a criminal conviction at the time, but it would definitely have brought unwanted attention from the police. In addition, I strongly suspect that it would fall under the heading of "conduct unbecoming" so if he hadn't died he might well have been kicked out of the forces. Our Jack knew that it wouldn't be an issue but the real Jack...

Though I suspect we were all just meant to go !Woah!' and our brains were meant to turn to mush and we weren't meant to think it through, which wouldn't have been an unreasonable assumption on the writers' part.
