One down, three (and a mini-series) to go...

I finished watching Season 1 of Farscape tonight. I am completely hooked on this show! Can't wait to start watching Season 2 while my husband is at work (he works nights) next week. *g*

Premiere - I knew I was going to like Farscape from the outset. To be honest, I don't know why I didn't watch it when it first aired. It's my sort of show and my Dad has always loved it. Maybe I was too invested in the Whedonverse at the time? I don't know, but I'm glad people on my flist (like [livejournal.com profile] julia_here, [livejournal.com profile] fer1213 and [livejournal.com profile] sdwolfpup) gave me the incentive to watch it. :) Don't get me wrong, it doesn't get off to a great start, but it does show potential. It's nice to see a show being given the chance to find it's feet before being whipped off the air. What a tragedy that would have been!

I, E.T - This isn't the best of episodes, but I love the interaction we get to see between the crew. I have to admit to having a soft spot for Rygel, even though he is a little shit later in the season. My love for John is there from the beginning, and this only gets stronger as the season progresses.

Exodus From Genesis - I liked this episode a lot. Zhaan became more and more interesting to me from this episode onwards. I have to admit, up until now I hadn't really paid that much attention to her. We also get to learn more about the Sebaceans in this episode, which is good. They may look like humans, but they're very different in reality and the heat disease highlights that to perfection. I love Aeryn in this episode.

Throne for a Loss - This was a fun episode, with some wonderful moments in it. Aeryn was great and my love for Rygel just keeps on growing. He's a little bugger, but I love him anyway! :)

Back and Back and Back to the Future - This was an okay episode and I liked the idea of it, but I couldn't stand Matala. Her voice irritated me so much that it took me out of the episode completely. So this episode didn't really work for me at all.

Thank God it's Friday, Again - I loved this episode. D'Argo is a character I haven't mentioned yet, but I like him more and more with every episode. The scene at the end between him and Zhaan was wonderful.

PK Tech Girl - So, we get to see John with a love interest other than Aeryn in this episode. I liked Gilina, but the romance aspect didn't work for me at all. The one thing I did like was how jealous Aeryn seemed to be about Gilina. And she admitted that she did like John! :D

Durka terrifies me - I mean *really* terrifies me. *shudder* Poor Rygel! I'm not convinced he's dead, but time will tell.

That Old Black Magic - This episode didn't really do anything for me at all, although I did love the interaction between Crais and John and what we learned about his past.

DNA Mad Scientist - I loved this episode. The characters have so many different layers to them and are fascinating to watch. I couldn't believe that they actually cut Pilot's arm off! That was such a shock, and proved just how desperate they all are to go home. The scene at the end between D'Argo and Pilot was very moving. DNA Mad Scientist is the episode that tipped me over the edge from liking Farscape to loving it. :D

They've Got A Secret - Wonderful, wonderful episode. Poor D'Argo! I find myself empathising with him more and more, and there is such a depth to his character that I love. Moya's pregnancy was a big surprise! A pregnant spaceship is something I've never come across before. *g*

Till the Blood Runs Clear - Good episode, although the mechanic (Furlow) got on my nerves a little. I hope she doesn't turn up again. Loved the interaction between D'Argo and John. And Aeryn is wonderful!

Rhapsody in Blue - Loved how we got a glimpse into John's past in this episode. Ben Browder is such a good actor! Zhaan's backstory is intriguing. She's really quite scary when she wants to be, isn't she? I loved the scene at the end of the unity between Zhaan and John. So very moving.

The Flax - Excellent episode! The John/Aeryn interaction was wonderful and I loved it when D'Argo walked in on them! Hee! I hated John's death scene, but loved Aeryn's concern for him. All in all, a wonderful episode.

Jeremiah Crichton - Definitely the worst episode of the season for me. I haven't got much to say about this one at all, except that Rygel was as wonderful (and funny!) as ever.

Durka Returns - The dreaded Durka returns! Such a terrifying character. It was so good to see Rygel stand up for himself. I wasn't sure what I thought about Chiana at first, but I grew to love her by the end of the season. A very intriguing character indeed.

A Human Reaction - I simply *adored* this episode. This is the episode where I lost my heart to John/Aeryn. Such an amazing episode! I was completely unspoiled for this (as I am for all of Farscape), so for a terrible moment I thought Rygel was really dead. My god, I was devastated by the death of a puppet! That's how much this show is already affecting me. :D One of my favourite scenes of the episode was Aeryn's reaction to the rain. Claudia Black is so beautiful.

Through the Looking Glass - Very enjoyable episode. I watched this one (and A Human Reaction) when I was feeling down. It made me feel so much better! Every time Rygel started laughing he set me off, too. *g* And the scene at the end left me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. Aww.

A Bug's Life - Wonderful episode. John looks so sexy dressed in the Peacekeeper uniform! Guh! I quite liked Larraq and was sorry to see him die like that. I love Rygel and Chiana together! Rygel/Chiana anyone? *g* I felt for D'Argo in this episode. To be chained up like that? Not good.

Nerve (part 1) and The Hidden Memory (part 2) - Two amazing episodes. There's so much going on in these episodes, that it would be impossible to write it all down. I actually felt sorry for Crais when he was in the chair (not a mistake I'll be making again!). Loved every little bit of interaction between Aeryn and John, especially when Aeryn came to rescue him from his cell. I also found the D'Argo/Aeryn scenes very moving. If my heart hadn't already been lost to John/Aeryn, I could quite easily have boarded the D'Argo/Aeryn ship. ;) But the most amazing scene of all was the one between Aeryn and Crais. My admiration for Aeryn grows stronger with each episode.

I liked Gilina in this episode, and was very sad to see her die at the end. She seemed to realise very quickly that John had feelings for Aeryn, but still helped him anyway; something which ultimately led to her death. So sad.

Bone To Be Wild - Not a favourite episode, but not a bad one. Scorpius is a creepy character. He reminds me of the Child Catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I used to have nightmares about him as a kid (don't laugh), so I find Scorpius extremely creepy and scary (and not without good reason!). *shudder* Loved the scenes between Aeryn and Moya's baby. And Zhaan is a *plant*! That was a surprise. :)

Family Ties - And now on to the season finale. What can I say? Brilliant episode. How are they going to get out of that one?! And Crais, the bastard! Grr! I loved the interaction between the crew, especially Aeryn and Pilot. Such a beautiful scene. I was shocked at Rygel betraying them like that (although I shouldn't have been), but I still love the little bugger, I just can't help myself! :D The moment between him and John was very moving. In fact, I found myself close to tears throughout most of the episode.

On to Season 2! :D

Season 2 starts kind of "meh" but it ends SPECTACULARLY. I will warn when watching the finale of Season 2... have Season 3 ready to pop into the DVD player. No. Seriously. Have it on hand.

I'm bouncing in my seat because I don't want to spoil you, but one little thing: keep your eye out for tiny little aliens, like Em'li in "Bone to be Wild": they tend to be played by Francesca Bueller, who is Ben Browder's wife.
