I have to admit that as hot as I found the kiss, I was surprised they took it that far considering the time period.
I even found myself wondering whether it was really the Germans who shot him down or a bunch of homophobic Brits.
It would definitely be a possibility if it had really been the '40's instead of a TV show. :)
