Birth Date heads up

For some reason none of the birth dates of most of my flist are showing up on their user info. I've just had to change my own profile so that my birth date is showing. This could have implications for those of you who belong to communities with adult content, so it might be an idea to make sure that your birth date is showing on your user info. :)

LJ does some weird things sometimes!

Thanks for the heads up sweetie: I've sent a request directly to LJ, because none of mine are showing up either. Hopefully they'll get it sorted out...

Not only is the birth info missing from the User Info page but if you go to your Birthday List 80% of that has gone missing as well.

This may have nothing to do with anything, but I know I, for one, hid my birthdate when that whole LJ/Vox thing was going around. It was believed that LJ skewed so low, age-wise, because people didn't specify their birthyear in their user info, and therefore a disproportionate amount of people were about 5 years old (I think they used the year 0 for anyone who hadn't specified). In order to give LJ a better concept of the age of their users, many added their birthyear, but at the same time hid their entire birthdate (because you can't hide just the year).

Or it's entirely possible that they hid all birthdates at the same time as they reactivated the navigation strip. Never said they were bright. *g*

Well that is just odd, because mine wasn't showing, but when I checked the manage profile page it said that it should have been. So I clicked 'save changes' without changing anything and the birthdate appeared. As you say, LJ does weird things.
