As I'm using DW a little bit more (sort of as an extension to LJ), I've decided to take a leaf out of [personal profile] rahirah's book and clean up my DW reading/access list. So I've removed any DW journals that haven't been updated in more than a year, or who are LJ friends that are obviously no longer using their DW journals. If I've removed you and you didn't want to be removed, please let me know and I'll be happy to add you back! :)

I read my LJ flist every day, but DW only occasionally (as not many of my friends are posting over there yet), so if you're posting on DW only please let me know and I'll add you to my RSS feed list. Thank you! Those of you who have been posting on DW only for a while are already on the list. :)

I'm not planning on making any changes to my LJ flist, as LJ is still my primary journal and I'm quite happy with it just the way it is. :)

I'm trying to take my mind off a RL drama that's unfolding right now, so thought I might as well post about a few things that have been going on fandom wise recently.

Firstly - I've managed to get an account on Pottermore! Yay! I've never really been active in the HP fandom, but I'm a huge fan of the books and the movies, so there was no way I was going to miss out on a chance to gain early access to this. And if I find it isn't for me? Well, my daughter will get a huge kick out of it, so yay all round! :D

Secondly - I have to admit that my heart sank when I heard that Seasonal Spuffy was moving to DW, but that was mainly because I knew how upset some of the Spuffy fandom on LJ were going to be (and I understand that, I really do). But there's no way the move will make me abandon one of the best Spuffy communities around, so I'm planning on adding the RSS feed to my LJ flist (as there's no way I'll remember to check DW every day!) and reading the contributions as I always do. :)

Thirdly - I refuse to be made to abandon LJ because of the DDoS attacks. I have accounts on DW and Google+ as well as LJ (and am loving them all), but my homebase is still LJ. But that doesn't mean that I won't be posting elsewhere - all it means is that I won't be leaving LJ. I think there's room enough for them all. :)

Fourthly - I've been watching a fair bit of TV lately, but that can be shared in a post all of its own. Just one question: I know of at least one person on my flist who watches it, but has anyone else been watching The Hour on the BBC? Dominic West from The Wire is in it - and I love it! I eagerly await each new episode every week. It's just a pity there are only six episodes.

And that's it for now. :)

I miss LJ!

I see LJ is still having problems. It's either taking forever to load or not loading at all.

I miss everyone. :(

DW is okay, but it doesn't feel like home.

Snagged from just about everywhere. :)

Copy and Paste if you have enjoyed the blessing of meeting people online that you never would have met any other way. This is my end of the year shout out to the many "friends" I have never been in the same room with but who have inspired, amused, comforted, encouraged, and touched me in so many ways. I love you people! Here's to another year together!!

I wish you a happy and healthy 2011 - and look forward to many, many more years of friendship and fandom fun. *hugs to you all*

It's -7 outside and it doesn't feel much warmer inside. I have a feeling it's going to be a long winter.

LJ seems very quiet today. The Buffyverse fandom isn't the fun place it used to be at the moment, which is a shame. *sigh*

Not got much else to say right now...

I promised myself I was going to make a post on LJ every day during the month of December, but I can't think of a thing to post about.

I suppose I could talk about some of the unfair digs 'jokes' I've been seeing here and there on LJ aimed at a certain character's actions in a recent comic book, but I'm not going to do that... :P

I've just realised that today is my sixth LJ anniversary.

Wow! Six years.

Has is really been that long? o_O

I'd been part of online fandom for some time when I first came across LJ. Some of my friends from the BtVS and AtS boards I belonged to had started to post over here, so I decided to come over and see what it was like for myself.

And six years I am, still here.

I suppose that means I must have liked what I saw then? *g*

Thank you to everyone on my flist (both old and new) for making me feel so at home here on LJ. Being a part of this community has enriched my life in ways I can't even begin to describe. It hasn't always been plain sailing (all relationships have their ups and downs, after all), but I wouldn't have missed the last six years for anything!

*raises glass to you all*

Sorry I've been so absent lately. I'm still here and still reading, but haven't really been in the mood for posting, other than to leave the odd comment here and there.

I hope you're all well. :)

Attempting to crosspost to both LJ and DW. :)

I managed to import my LJ over to DW without any problems at all. Incredibly easy and pain free so far! :D

Now let's see if this works...

I'm calturner on IJ, Facebook, Twitter and variuos other places, although most are seldom used at the moment. Feel free to look me up if the need arises.

I'm not planning on going anywhere unless it becomes absolutely necessary, though.

I've been extra busy today, so I'm going to have an early night tonight. I still owe comments on my last couple of posts, but I'll respond to them tomorrow when I'm feeling more awake. :)

Have finally finished catching up on almost three weeks worth of comments, so don't be surprised to find a very late reply from me in your inbox. :D

Hope everyone is well. :)

I've just copied every single one of my LJ entries over to my IJ account, using LJ-Sec. It was so easy! I was expecting it to take much longer than it did, and thought that something was bound to go wrong. But no, it all worked perfectly! The only down side is that it doesn't copy comments over, but at least I now have a complete back-up journal to LJ. I've privatised some of my older entries, and will probably go back and privatise a few more when I have time, but on the whole I'm happy with it. :)

Looking back over my old entries has made me feel so nostalgic. I was so innocent to the ways of fandom and internet life back then...and probably even more open about my life than I am now, believe it or not. I know I'm not as naive as I once was, that's for sure. I'm a very different person to the one I was four? years ago, when I ventured online for the first time, following the end of BtVS. A decision I've never looked back on, even if it has been a bit of a rocky ride at times!

One thing I noticed is that I've just passed my 3 year LJ anniversary. My first post was July 2004. Wow! Time really does fly. I migrated here (LJ) along with some of my long term Buffyverse friends - [ profile] southernbangel, [ profile] makd, [ profile] raelee, [ profile] cdn_tvaddict, [ profile] showmewrtr, [ profile] angelspike69 and [ profile] cara_leigh9 to name but a few - mainly to keep up with my favourite fanfic authors, but it soon became so much more than that. It makes me sad to see how unsettled it is on LJ at the moment, with so many people moving on to other journal/blogging sites. My only hope is that we don't all spread our wings too wide. I would hate to see this wonderful community we've built here (and it is a wonderful community, in spite of LJ/6A) fall to pieces, never to be repaired. I'd like to think that we all mean more to one another than that. But only time will tell, I suppose. *sigh*

*hugs flist*

This journal is on hiatus until further notice.

RL will probably be keeping me busy until September, but I'll try to stop by when I can. I hope you'll all still be here when I get back!

See some of you in Cardiff next weekend! :)

I get knocked down, but I get up again. You're never going to keep me down.

For some reason none of the birth dates of most of my flist are showing up on their user info. I've just had to change my own profile so that my birth date is showing. This could have implications for those of you who belong to communities with adult content, so it might be an idea to make sure that your birth date is showing on your user info. :)

LJ does some weird things sometimes!
